But In the UK, it would depend whether you were an NHS Dentist (working for the Government, giving low cost/free treatment to patients). They get a guaranteed payment every year.
Or a Private Dentist – who charges whatever they want – but have to fund their own equipment, and only get paid the profit they make.
Mind you – a lot of people in the UK prefer private dentists – as its easier to get emergency appointments. You have your loyal patients who will come every six months, and will recommend you to their friends. My parents travel 250 miles every six months to see their dentist (they’ve been going to her (and her father before her) for 30 years now. I make a 300 mile journey to see her as well – as its very difficult to get on another private dentists books where I live – and plus – she’s looked after my mouth from the time I had no teeth… so I’d rather go see her.
